Fundstelle – finding place, 2007 – floor work
The pavilion of the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus in Bremen is a former toilet block built at the beginning of the 20th century. Since the early 1990s, this space has been used by the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus Sculpture Museum to present works by contemporary artists.
What is remarkable about the small building – the interior has an area of around 25 square meters – are the disproportionately thick walls, the complicated cross-gabled roof and the diversity of the four walls, which are roughly the same in size but have very different layouts.
