Barbara Eitel

In my installations and wall objects, I pursue lightness, playfulness and the act of looking beyond spatial boundaries. My working method here is very craft-oriented. I work with MDF and aluminium sheets, sawing elements out of the sheets, sanding the forms so that they take on a life of their own, and treating the surfaces with paint. The openness of the elements allows them to make visual contact with their surroundings. The material aspect then recedes into the background.
