The work consists of paper shapes painted with acrylic paint and then cut out, which are applied to the stone floor of the church with paste. The artist herself speaks of a “landscape” in the sense of a space-occupying structure.
The elliptical interior of the Weißfrauenkirche is equipped with strong architectural and interior design elements. No artist exhibiting there can avoid dealing with the space and its visual dominance. Barbara Eitel is the first to devote herself to the floor and thematize it as a structured and living entity.
